Griffonia Seeds
Griffonia Seeds (Bandeiraea Simplicifolia) is a shrubbery used in African folk medicine where the seeds are used for aphrodisia and antibiotic purposes. More recently, the plant appears to be used in the treatment of anxiety and depression, insomnia, migraine and headache, as well as the regulation of appetite leading to weight reduction in obese patients all of these effects are said to be due to the 5-HTP content of Griffonia Simplicifolia. The psychoactive properties of Griffonia seeds consist of Serotonin 5-Hydroxytryptophan. 5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP), also known as oxitriptan (INN), is a naturally occurring amino acid and chemical precursor as well as a metabolic intermediate in the biosynthesis of the neurotransmitters serotonin and melatonin from tryptophan These are untreated seeds imported from Ghana.
