San Pedro cactus cuttings (Echinopsis pachanoi), also known as Huachuma, is a columnar cactus native to the Andean region of South America, particularly Peru. It has been used for centuries by indigenous cultures for its medicinal and spiritual properties. The San Pedro is a cactus with pillars with 4 to 9 ribbons. It grows quite fast, has a strong root system and branches off from the base of the stem. The San Pedro just keeps growing until it gives in under its own weight. When the cactus falls, it will root again and produce new branches.
San Pedro cactus cuttings refer to sections of the cactus stem that are cut and prepared for various purposes. These cuttings are typically obtained from mature plants and are used in rituals, ceremonies, and as a source of traditional medicine.
The cuttings are often dried and prepared for consumption in the form of tea or powdered for medicinal use. Also used in preparation of making soap, dyes, and incense.
