Yohimbe is a small evergreen tree native to Africa. Scientifically known as Pausinystalia Yohimbe, Yohimbe bark contains a substance called yohimbine, plus additional similar compounds, known as indole alkaloids. Yohimbe powder has been noted for its aphrodisiac effects to both males and females. Yohimbe is the name of the bark of a tall evergreen tree in western Africa known as Pausinystalia yohimbe or Corynanthe yohimbe. The bark has been used for centuries in some western African nations for sexual enhancement. Our Yohimbe Bark comes to us directly from our grower in Africa and comes in powdered form as well.
It has been reported to contain up to 6% total alkaloids, 10-15% of which is yohimbine. In other words, a small percentage of a chemical called yohimbine is found in the bark of the yohimbe tree. Currently the extracts are sold in varying alkaloid concentrations, ranging from plain yohimbe bark powder, to 2% extract, 4%, 8%, 12 percent and up to 20% alkaloids. The higher the concentration, the more potent it will be and so a lesser dosage will be required. Yohimbe is also a sexual stimulant in women. Women like the enhanced sensation and engorgement of genital organs as long as the dose is kept low to prevent the adverse effects discussed above.
Yohimbe Bark should not be used if you have liver and/or kidney diseases, nor if the prostrate gland or sexual organs are chronically inflamed. It is not recommended that this dried herb be taken long term. It can also accelerate the action of pharmaceutical MAO-inhibitors. As with any herb, you should consult a healthcare professional before taking Yohimbe Bark
